Shark, Tiger and Squirrel say they have had enough of being frog marched around from activity to activity and are pleading to have a day off. Even though I think they have not yet had a day on, given the nature of their holiday lifestyle.
I tell them that is a pity, because today I have in my diary that we can be in Cambridge shoving lavender stems up our noses. Or in London at the Royal Institution hobnobbing with the next generation of mini scientists. While in both those places we can be at a local park walk-and-talk with specialists who know about soil. And I am pretty sure I can find a village green just outside Dunstable reenacting a fourteenth century medieval battle.
They win.
Shark, Tiger and Squirrel serve me with notice to cease and desist for the day, and at ten this morning they scamper off into the garden to play.
And that's the last I see of them, till tea time.

So, would this be a Staff Training Day for you then?
I'm glad you let them have the day off. Obviously they were filled to the rim with educational experiences and needed some time off to absorb it all. You're a good Mum. Enjoy the day off yourself as well.
A day off is good to have every once in a while. We call them Mental Health Days.
but the lavender! the lavender! it's calling me!
I have to say, the lavendar does sound good... but I love those gentle, pottering, recharging days...
