Thanks to the stunning papier mache work displayed down at a local art gallery, gritlet number one now plans to take over the house with chickenwire, old newspaper and PVA.
We are unlikely to produce beautiful work like this...
But you can be sure we will try.

Oh be afraid She could turn out like I did! I am even obsessional about the way I tear the newspaper strips - I have a method that optimises the grain of the paper and get quite upset when the sproglets 'help' - it's a way of life Pap Mash is.
Balloons covered in papier mache make awesome heads. A most satisfyingly messy activity. Enjoy.
And empty tissue boxes make excellent balloon head holders while they are being pap-mached (otherwise they will roll around onto the heavy sticky side every time resulting in lots of child-unfriendly words).
You see? I told you I was obsessional about it.
I have never been very successful with it, either to crumbly or too runny and takes years to dry.
There must be a workshop on some where.
Hmmm, just don't forget to make breathing holes in the mask, first rule I learned in special effects class. We learned how to make plastic life casts of our heads. Cover face in dental alginate first, then cover in plaster bandages until both set up nicely so person is under mask for 30-45min), must build mask around nostrils or will suffocate the victim. Once dried, carefully peel off face and then the interior of the alginate mask is filled with plaster. Once you have a plaster cast of one's head, you can sculpt all over it and then make castings of said sculptures and make those into facial appliances which can be painted. Anyway, my point is I did everything right with my friends mask except for the sculpting part where I left the nostrils closed and the teacher had the sense to tell me to burn the holes open. If I ever magically get a chance to come to England AND somehow bring a pile of special effect supplies I would do a work shop with your girls. That would fun.
